RJUHSD CTE Internship Program

At Roseville Joint Union High School District, we prepare every student for college and future careers.Through our Career Technical Education (CTE) Internship Program, students gain real-world work experience. They explore different career paths, build essential workplace skills, and apply what they learn in the classroom to real jobs.

Students who complete two or more consecutive courses in a CTE program qualify to apply for an internship. Please see qualifying courses on our CTE homepage.

Overview & Benefits for Employers

By partnering with the RJUHSD CTE Internship Program, businesses can train future talent, build a pipeline for entry-level roles, enhance community outreach, and offer leadership development for staff.

  • How It Works: Interns gain practical pathway experience while earning both high school and Sierra College credits through a dual-enrollment class.
  • Duration & Hours: Internships run for one semester (Aug–Dec or Jan–May). Unpaid interns work 6–8 hours/week, while paid intern hours align with labor laws.
  • Goal: Help students build technical/workplace skills, apply classroom knowledge, and refine their college and career goals.

Partner Requirements & Getting Started

To host an intern business partners are expected to:

  • Provide Structure: Host a student orientation (covering expectations, safety, ethics, and attire) and offer a structured, variety-filled learning experience.
  • Offer Supervision & Feedback: Assign a designated mentor to guide the student and complete two performance evaluations per term.
  • Complete Documentation: Have a Cooperative Vocational Education Agreement on file with RJUHSD. One employee must be fingerprinted through RJUHSD.
